My fiancé and I had a lovely time in Mexico City. As a caveat, my fiancé and I take all necessary precautions for COVID 19. We both got tested before and after our journeys, wore masks, and practiced social distancing. The first thing we did was fly into the Mexico City airport. The nice thing about Mexico City is that you can use uber there (not the case in Cancun) which helps from a cost perspective. We stayed in the JW Marriot in Mexico City and spent most of our time in Polanco, which is a very nice part of town. Almost everything was closed except shopping and restaurants, so we ate, shopped, and walked through parks. All museums were closed.

The Food

Pujol- We made sure to get a reservation at Pujol. This restaurant had been so hyped up that I could not wait to try it. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations for the price we paid. Read more about our experience here.

KYU- We also had another disappointing tasting menu at KYU, an Asian fusion restaurant. The only real winner for that menu was the ceviche. Definitely worth skipping.

Local Taco restaurants- We enjoyed finding small taco shops to eat from. If you’re looking to eat great food, you’re better off to find small taco shops.

The Parks

We very much enjoyed walking through the parks. Some area I recommend are:

Jardin Winston Churchill- this is a nice small park which has a statue of Winston Churchill

Bosque de Chapultepec- This is the larger more well know park. My fiancé and I had a lovely time renting a paddle boat and paddling through the lake. We also bought cotton candy from a vendor, but the cotton candy there tastes weird. I do not recommend it.

The Shopping

Polanco Streets- we had fun window shopping at the fancy stores like Louis Vuitton or Dior. We were not however permitted to enter together.

Antara Fashion Hall- The mall had a lot of shops to browse and did not have strict 1 person rules. It was mostly Spanish brands like Zara, Oysho, and others. It was a lovely mall.

Sears Building- For some reason Sears is still around in Mexico, and if you go to the floor with the cafe on it you get a nice view of the city
