We started our journey with shopping at the North Georgia outlets and got some amazing deals on luggage, hiking gear, and outerwear. We then drove to Amicalola Falls and Trails and hiked up to the top. The hike consisted of a bunch of stairs, and some nice-looking outlooks. Photos were almost impossible to take though as the trail was incredibly busy. There was a restaurant at the top, where we stopped for drinks and the people were so nice there!!
We stayed at the Hampton Inn which had just opened eight days prior. For dinner we want to Bin322 which is a tapas and wine bar. It had live music, and the staff was so friendly there! I must say it had the best salad dressing I think I’ve ever had in my life, and I hate salads.
The next day was quite annoying because we woke up at 7:30am due to the train. We had the day to explore, and as such went to the Aska Trails and Fall Branch Falls. We hiked on a trail, and no joke were a few steps from getting hit by a falling tree, which was scary. We found a really nice waterfall to take a picture with, and then went on to our next destination: Harrah’s Cherokee Casino. We went there because it had some Tesla destination chargers. We ate lunch in their food court, then tried to play at the blackjack table. Unfortunately, we did not have enough cash on us as the minimum buy in was $25.
We went to Brasstown Bald which is the highest point in GA. It was a beautiful view where we saw three different states from the lookout (TN, GA, and NC). This was my favorite spot on our journey. We finished the evening at Longhorn steakhouse because it had a car charger near it. We had a huge meal, and a phenomenal waitress. We drove back to Blue Ridge and called it a night.
Our last day in Blue Ridge we explored the town and all the cute shops. We bought fudge and jerky. They had an exotic jerky wall so I ended up buying some kangaroo jerky which is crazy. We also bought beef jerky as well. We had lunch at a place called fighting tavern and loved our shrimp meal.
We then went on a picturesque horseback riding tour for an hour at Blue Ridge Mountain Trail. It was a very reasonable price at $39.99 The horses were incredibly well trained and ride/ guides were fabulous. To top it all off they had goats that I got to play with and I LOVE goats. On our drive back we stopped at Atlanta Motorsports Park where we could charge the car and my husband could go- kart while I read for my class. All and all a fantastic weekend trip to a beautiful part of the South.
