Red Beach

Mykonos

We flew to Mykonos for my fiance’s birthday in 2019 and stayed at Mykonos Bay, which was a nice place that had its own private beach. To get around the island we rented an ATV, which was super convenient and allowed us to better explore for a relatively cheap price, especially in low season.

On the other side of Mykonos was Paradise Beach, which was the more party side of Mykonos. As we explored the island, we loved the beautiful sunsets, crystal clear water, and the uniformity of the buildings.

Santorini

Our next stop was Santorini, where we stayed in one of my favorite hotels: Allure Suites. Breakfast was made and brought to our room every morning, we had an awesome hot tub inside the room, there were two floors, and it had a perfect view of the sunset with a great location. Similar to Mykonos, we rented an ATV to get around the island.

I loved the blue topped churches and the Red Beach was truly a highlight. One of the lower points was searching for, then waiting in line, to take the quintessential Santorini picture with the three domes that are on every post card. If I could do it again maybe I would just photoshop a background to not have to deal with the inconsiderate people in the line. Pro tip, don’t try to see the sunset from Oia. It’s just as beautiful, and far less crowded to watch the sunset from Thia.

Athens

Our last stop in Greece was Athens. To be honest you only really need one day in Athens. You can see the Acropolis and any other sites if you plan it out right. We only went to the Acropolis, and I thought it was amusing that the biggest draw to the Acropolis, the Parthenon, is completely covered in scaffolding. I still enjoyed my time there though.

Overall the Greek islands were the true highlight of this trip, and it was a very relaxing vacation.
