In one of my last free weekends before I started weekend graduate school my husband and I took a road trip to Greenville. We highly recommend Greenville for a nice couples getaway if has a nice city square that contains a waterfall in the middle. We enjoyed taking walks around the water and peaking into the local art shops.

  • Rode bikes – swamp rabbit trail – the local bikeshare had electric bikes which was a fun novelty. The local bike stores completely overcharge for renting bikes for just a couple of hours.
  • Falls Park on the Reedy – the city has done an incredible job of integrating the downtown area around this beautiful natural feature. Once dilapidated, development over recent decades has made Greenville stunning and very walkable.
  • 4th July in the mountains – Bald Rock Heritage Preserve – nice distant view of fireworks from all over, but was annoying and dangerous to have people lighting fireworks right next to us on the rock.
  • Paris Mountain State Park – we spent an afternoon hiking through here.
