We went to the south of Spain to celebrate New Year’s (2018- 2019) together and had a wonderful time. We stayed in Fuengirola and ventured out to Malaga and Marbella, where we enjoyed walking around, and I did some shopping. We then drove to Caminito Del Rey, which was a very cool spot to walk right next to some mountains and enjoy the beautiful views in the South of Spain. As a note, the start of the walk was very disorganized, and all the walks seemed to start late.

We then spent time in Seville, which is now one of my favorite cities in Spain as it was full of life. We visited some very pretty parks and places and all around the south of Spain are beautiful orange trees. The places we went to included Plaza de Espana, Parque de Maria Luisa, Las Setas de Sevilla, I was also wearing my college sweatshirt at the time and two people from my college in Atlanta came up to me and asked me if I went there. Such a small world! I even met someone who was going to the business school that I graduated from. We then went to a flamenco show which allowed me to really enjoy Spanish culture. After flamenco we walked through a “Feria” or fair. They happen all the time in the summer, so naturally I played some games and we went up in a ferris wheel.

After Seville we took a trip to Gibraltar. I must say this was such a highlight for the trip. There are monkeys who live at the top of Gibraltar that are protected and taken care of, but still wild. We went up to the top of Gibraltar where the monkeys were and we saw one go into the open window of a car driven by Italian tourists, grab a banana and a yogurt, and eat it all. It was quite comical, and that monkey was very sneaky. The monkeys knew they ran gibraltar and would jump on cars and try to steal personal items. I got close to some of them for some great pictures, but made sure not to touch them as they are wild. All in all it was a fantastic experience. We then got back to Malaga to celebrate New Year’s with a three course meal, excellent sangria, and some fireworks.
