Drinking gin at the Gin School at 45 West

To be fair Leicester was not a destination I was dying to go to, and I was on a business trip, but here’s a quick take on this city. I went during Bonfire night which is kind of like the English 4th of July. They set off fireworks and remember when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up parliament. Some highlights of the city include:

The Gin School 45 West. It’s a great place to drink because they have all these different flavors of gin and tonic, and everything looks really nice. The bartenders are also apt to give out some free drinks.

Middleton’s Steakhouse and Grill. I enjoyed my meal there. The steak had grill marks which I was not a fan of, but the sides were very well prepared, and the steak overall tasted good.

Mall (they call it a shopping centre). There is also a very nice inner city mall with loads of shops to buy clothing and gifts. There was also an abundance of coffee shops, but of course being American I ended up at Starbucks.

London Philharmonia Orchestra. While I was there the ISKCON had a special exhibit inside a Hindu temple, which was originally a bank. The exhibit showcased different orchestral instruments. The most interesting part was at the end there was a virtual reality headsets so that you were sitting right in the orchestra. The exhibit was also free which was fantastic.

Overall it was a great trip that allowed me to get a taste of the city.
