As part of my first job, I lived in three different cities for 8 months at a time. Here are my favorite things about Boston. Note I lived in Belmont, a suburb of Boston. The Boston Metro area is very navigable on the T and is very easy to explore and find your “new favorite place”
- TeaDo- best milk teas ever
- Urban Hearth- Amazing restaurant
- Newbury Street- Good shopping, but I usually went straight to the back of the stores because it can be a little pricey
- Boston Opera House- make sure to get student pricing if you have an ID. I was able to see Rent, Miss Saigon, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, School of Rock.
- Cutler Majestic Theater- we saw an amazing play An Inspector Calls and we’re even featured in the “audience reacts” video you can watch here.
- Davis Square- good place to find reasonably priced restaurants
- Boston Public Library- very pretty, lots of brides take wedding pictures here and have weddings here. You can also do afternoon tea. The courtyard is also very nice
- Boston Public Gardens/ Boston Common
- Harvard and MIT’s campuses
- The Loeb Drama Center – I was able to see Six before it opened on Broadway there
- JFK presidential library- very pretty area
- Faneuil Hall- fun food hall
- Prudential Center- Nice mall with places to eat
- TD Garden- I saw a Celtics game and a Bruins game. Very cool stadium and atmosphere
- Fenway Park
- Freedom Trail
- Schuller’s- great venue for Jazz
- Elizabeth Gardner Museum- a place I wish I had gone
- Fuji- great Asian restaurant with amazing duck fried rice
- Boston Harbor Islands- (read more about my time here)
- The cape- great for riding bikes and also taking trips to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard
